A travers toute l'Europe et l'Amérique du Sud, Michel Beckers, originaire d'Anvers, s'est produit avec son spectacle comique de jonglage et d'acrobatie : "Teorge Michael" (à ne pas confondre avec George Michael), où il conjugue les Arts du cirque et l'humour d'une façon originale. The belgian entertainer, juggler and acrobat Michel Beckers from Antwerp played his show all over Europe and South America. A show full of humor and circusacts. "Teorge Michael" (not to be confused with George Michael), brings his shows direct on the streets, without much technics or equipment, in a most original way.

Né au Pays-Bas en 1964 comme fils d'un diplomate belge. A partir de dix ans, il fréquente une école française Internationale en Israël, étant 'goy', (non juif).

Après quatre ans, il déménage pour deux ans en Italie, suivi de trois années au Portugal.

Il voyage ensuite de nombreuses fois en Inde et en Amérique du Sud.

Ensuite il revient dans son pays d'origine, où il se fait taquiner :"Hé, t'as un accent difficile à situer. Tu es sud-africain?"

Born in 1964 and raised in the Netherlands as a son of a belgian diplomat. Since the age of ten, lived four years as a 'goy' (non jew) in Israël, frequenting a french international school.

Moved to & stayed two years in Italy, followed by three years in Portugal.

Travelled many times to India and South-America.

Came back to my "own" country, where I got the remarks: "hey, you got a strange 'not to place anywhere' accent. Are you from South-Africa?"

En 1996, après avoir suivi des cours à l'école de Cirque de Bruxelles, la ligue d'improvisation et l'atelier de mime à Anvers (B), Michel quitte l'Europe pour deux années, et se révèle en Amérique du Sud sous le nom de "Mr. Cascadia", artiste de théâtre de rue.

Il change ensuite de nom par souci de prononciation en "Teorge Michael" (prononcez: "Tôrtsj Maekel"), étant une métaphore entre "George Michael" et 'torche'.

En 1998, il gagne le premier prix au festival des arts dans la rue à Blankenberge (B), en 1999 le deuxième prix du festival "Theater aan Zee", à Ostende (B) et en 2004 le premier prix au Festival du Théâtre de rue à Meppel (NL).

After following courses at the circus school in Brussels, the Antwerp improvisation liga and mime school, I left for Chile and Argentina in '96, where I revealed myself as "Mr. Cascadîa".

Later I changed this name (because nobody could pronounce it correctly), metaforically into "Teorge Michael", (read: "Tôrtsj Maekel", word play with 'torch' and George Michael).

In '98 I got the first prize at the streettheatre festival in Blankenberghe (B), in '99 the second at "Theater aan Zee" in Oostende (B), and in 2004 the first prize at Meppel Straattheaterfestival (NL).

La représentation internationale de 45 minutes (modulable) se déroule devant, derrière, sous et sur une table à trépied branlante, où il fait la démonstration de son art facétieux du jonglage et de l'acrobatie.

Puis terminant cette performance d'artiste dans une apogée de feu! Convenant pour du théâtre de rue, des festivals, et plus!

It's a 45 minutes, stretchable to one hour, visual (for children), spiritual (for adults), and participative international show, which takes place in front off, and on a wobbling three legged table; fully packed with comedy, acrobatic, balancing, and juggling skills, ending with a flaming finale.

Enjoyed by all ages, it's well suited for street theatre, festivals and more!
